US Number of Total Arrests By Population Group for Vagrancy Offenses in 2023

According to the FBI UCR data, in 2023, there were 16,700 total arrests made in the US for vagrancy offenses. There were 13,565 total arrests made in All Cities; 2,555 total arrests made in Metropolitan Counties; 580 total arrests made in Nonmetropolitan Counties; and 4,556 total arrests made in Suburban Areas.

In terms of rate of arrests per 100K inhabitants, Group VI - Cities had the highest (13.4), followed by Group II - Cities (11.4), and Group I - Cities (7.2).

  5. Group V - Cities: Cities with a population of 10,000 to 24,999.
  6. Group VI - Cities: Cities with a population under 10,000.
