US Number of Total Arrests By Population Group for Violent Crime Offenses in 2024

According to the FBI UCR data, in 2024, there were 374,422 total arrests made in the US for violent crime offenses. There were 298,386 total arrests made in All Cities; 58,606 total arrests made in Metropolitan Counties; 17,430 total arrests made in Nonmetropolitan Counties; and 106,357 total arrests made in Suburban Areas.

In terms of rate of arrests per 100K inhabitants, Group I - Cities had the highest (228.9), followed by Total Cities (146.4), and Group II - Cities (139.6).

  5. Group V - Cities: Cities with a population of 10,000 to 24,999.
  6. Group VI - Cities: Cities with a population under 10,000.
