United States Hate Crime Offenses By Crime Type in 2012
According to the FBI UCR data, in 2012, there were 8,178 Hate Crime Offenses in the US. Destruction/Damage/Vandalism of Property was the highest type of hate crime committed (2,453), and constituted 30.00% of the total number of offenses. The second highest hate crime offense committed was Intimidation (1,966), constituting 24.04% of the total. The third highest hate crime offense commited was Simple Assault (1,758), constituting 21.50% of the total.
