United States Hate Crime Offenses By Crime Type in 2017
According to the FBI UCR data, in 2017, there were 8,959 Hate Crime Offenses in the US. Destruction/Damage/Vandalism of Property was the highest type of hate crime committed (2,560), and constituted 28.58% of the total number of offenses. The second highest hate crime offense committed was Intimidation (2,334), constituting 26.05% of the total. The third highest hate crime offense commited was Simple Assault (1,805), constituting 20.15% of the total.
