Based on the US Census Bureau's special tabulation from the ACS 5-year estimates, in 2012, the citizen population for Hawaii was 1,254,395 and represented 92.05% of the total Hawaii population.

Among all Hawaii counties, Honolulu had the highest citizen population (875.19K), followed by Hawaii (173.17K), and Maui (143.25K).
