Based on the US Census Bureau's special tabulation from the ACS 5-year estimates, in 2012, the Non-Hispanic Black Alone citizen population for Texas was 1,245,335 and represented 5.55% of the total Texas citizen population.

Among all Texas counties, Harris had the highest Non-Hispanic Black Alone citizen population (740.45K), followed by Dallas (500.02K), and Tarrant (253.71K).

In terms of percentages, Jefferson had the highest percentage of its citizen population being Non-Hispanic Black Alone (35.74%), followed by Houston (27.06%), and Waller (26.24%).
