Based on the US Census Bureau's special tabulation from the ACS 5-year estimates, in 2012, the Non-Hispanic Black Alone citizen voting-age population for North Carolina was 902,495 and represented 13.22% of the total North Carolina citizen voting-age population.

Among all North Carolina counties, Mecklenburg had the highest Non-Hispanic Black Alone citizen voting-age population (194.78K), followed by Wake (128.77K), and Guilford (113.55K).

In terms of percentages, Bertie had the highest percentage of its citizen voting-age population being Non-Hispanic Black Alone (61.99%), followed by Hertford (59.29%), and Northampton (56.79%).
