Based on the US Census Bureau's special tabulation from the ACS 5-year estimates, in 2012, the Non-Hispanic Black Alone citizen voting-age population for Tennessee was 902,495 and represented 19.24% of the total Tennessee citizen voting-age population.

Among all Tennessee counties, Shelby had the highest Non-Hispanic Black Alone citizen voting-age population (336.08K), followed by Davidson (122.24K), and Hamilton (48.60K).

In terms of percentages, Shelby had the highest percentage of its citizen voting-age population being Non-Hispanic Black Alone (51.62%), followed by Haywood (49.22%), and Hardeman (40.07%).
