Based on the US Census Bureau's special tabulation from the ACS 5-year estimates, in 2012, the Non-Hispanic Black Alone citizen population for Tennessee was 1,245,335 and represented 20.22% of the total Tennessee citizen population.

Among all Tennessee counties, Shelby had the highest Non-Hispanic Black Alone citizen population (477.48K), followed by Davidson (169.25K), and Hamilton (67.04K).
