Based on the US Census Bureau's special tabulation from the ACS 5-year estimates, in 2021, the Non-Hispanic Black Alone citizen population for Tennessee was 1,315,935 and represented 19.80% of the total Tennessee citizen population.

Among all Tennessee counties, Shelby had the highest Non-Hispanic Black Alone citizen population (496.37K), followed by Davidson (182.49K), and Hamilton (66.22K).

In terms of percentages, Shelby had the highest percentage of its citizen population being Non-Hispanic Black Alone (55.65%), followed by Haywood (51.46%), and Hardeman (40.95%).
