Based on the US Census Bureau's special tabulation from the ACS 5-year estimates, in 2021, the US Non-Hispanic Black or African American Alone citizen population was 39,041,080 and represented 12.68% of the total US citizen population.

Among all US states and DC, Texas had the highest Non-Hispanic Black Alone citizen population (3.29M), followed by Georgia (3.26M), and Florida (3.03M).

In terms of percentages, District of Columbia had the highest percentage of its citizen population being Non-Hispanic Black Alone (46.36%), followed by Mississippi (37.90%), and Louisiana (32.53%).
