Based on the US Census Bureau's special tabulation from the ACS 5-year estimates, in 2020, the US Non-Hispanic Black or African American Alone citizen population was 38,774,900 and represented 12.72% of the total US citizen population.

Among all US states and DC, Texas had the highest Non-Hispanic Black Alone citizen population (3.25M), followed by Georgia (3.23M), and Florida (3.02M).

In terms of percentages, District of Columbia had the highest percentage of its citizen population being Non-Hispanic Black Alone (47.10%), followed by Mississippi (38.03%), and Louisiana (32.70%).
