Based on the US Census Bureau's special tabulation from the ACS 5-year estimates, in 2013, the citizen voting-age population for South Dakota was 608,885 and represented 73.79% of the total South Dakota population.

Among all South Dakota counties, Minnehaha had the highest citizen voting-age population (124.61K), followed by Pennington (76.50K), and Lincoln (32.72K).

In terms of percentages, Fall River had the highest percentage of its population being citizens of voting-age (81.64%), followed by Custer (81.22%), and Clay (80.65%).
