Based on the US Census Bureau's special tabulation from the ACS 5-year estimates, in 2023, the citizen voting-age population for South Dakota was 662,330 and represented 73.66% of the total South Dakota population.

Among all South Dakota counties, Minnehaha had the highest citizen voting-age population (142.42K), followed by Pennington (86.27K), and Lincoln (48.57K).

In terms of percentages, Custer had the highest percentage of its population being citizens of voting-age (85.61%), followed by Fall River (82.10%), and Lawrence (82.03%).
