Based on the US Census Bureau's special tabulation from the ACS 5-year estimates, in 2014, the citizen voting-age population for South Dakota was 616,015 and represented 73.80% of the total South Dakota population.

Among all South Dakota counties, Minnehaha had the highest citizen voting-age population (126.57K), followed by Pennington (78.29K), and Lincoln (34.01K).

In terms of percentages, Jones had the highest percentage of its population being citizens of voting-age (83.23%), followed by McPherson (81.67%), and Custer (81.58%).
