Based on the US Census Bureau's special tabulation from the ACS 5-year estimates, in 2016, the citizen population for New Hampshire was 1,291,415 and represented 97.28% of the total New Hampshire population.

Among all New Hampshire counties, Hillsborough had the highest citizen population (387.28K), followed by Rockingham (294.70K), and Merrimack (144.37K).

In terms of percentages, Sullivan had the highest percentage of its population being citizens (99.44%), followed by Belknap (98.98%), and Coos (98.88%).
