Based on the US Census Bureau's special tabulation from the ACS 5-year estimates, in 2016, the Non-Hispanic Black Alone citizen voting-age population for Tennessee was 945,515 and represented 19.39% of the total Tennessee citizen voting-age population.

Among all Tennessee counties, Shelby had the highest Non-Hispanic Black Alone citizen voting-age population (354.95K), followed by Davidson (132.60K), and Hamilton (50.78K).

In terms of percentages, Shelby had the highest percentage of its citizen voting-age population being Non-Hispanic Black Alone (53.44%), followed by Haywood (49.87%), and Hardeman (40.83%).
