Based on the US Census Bureau's special tabulation from the ACS 5-year estimates, in 2020, the West Virginia citizen population was 1.79M. The Non-Hispanic White Alone ethnicity group had the highest citizen population (1.66M) and constituted 92.56% of the total. The Non-Hispanic Black or African American Alone ethnicity group had the second highest citizen population (62.67K) and constituted 3.50% of the total. The Non-Hispanic Two Or More Races ethnicity group had the third highest (32.49K), constituting 1.81% of the total citizen population.
