Based on the US Census Bureau's special tabulation from the ACS 5-year estimates, in 2024, the West Virginia citizen population was 1.76M. The Non-Hispanic White Alone ethnicity group had the highest citizen population (1.61M) and constituted 91.51% of the total. The Non-Hispanic Black or African American Alone ethnicity group had the second highest citizen population (55.04K) and constituted 3.12% of the total.
