Based on the US Census Bureau's special tabulation from the ACS 5-year estimates, in 2021, the Maryland citizen population was 5.71M. The Non-Hispanic White Alone ethnicity group had the highest citizen population (3.02M) and constituted 52.90% of the total. The Non-Hispanic Black or African American Alone ethnicity group had the second highest citizen population (1.73M) and constituted 30.28% of the total. The Hispanic or Latino of All Races ethnicity group had the third highest (459.07K), constituting 8.04% of the total citizen population.
