Based on the US Census Bureau's special tabulation from the ACS 5-year estimates, in 2022, the Mississippi citizen population was 2.92M. The Non-Hispanic White Alone ethnicity group had the highest citizen population (1.66M) and constituted 56.81% of the total. The Non-Hispanic Black or African American Alone ethnicity group had the second highest citizen population (1.10M) and constituted 37.65% of the total. The Hispanic or Latino of All Races ethnicity group had the third highest (75.53K), constituting 2.59% of the total citizen population.
