Based on the US Census Bureau's special tabulation from the ACS 5-year estimates, in 2022, the Non-Hispanic Black Alone citizen population for West Virginia was 1,317,960 and represented 74.04% of the total West Virginia citizen population.

Among all West Virginia counties, Kanawha had the highest Non-Hispanic Black Alone citizen population (11.93K), followed by Berkeley (8.36K), and Raleigh (5.30K).
