Based on the US Census Bureau's special tabulation from the ACS 5-year estimates, in 2022, the North Carolina citizen voting-age population was 7.73M. The Non-Hispanic White Alone ethnicity group had the highest citizen voting-age population (5.29M) and constituted 68.44% of the total.

The Non-Hispanic Black or African American Alone ethnicity group had the second highest citizen voting-age population (1.66M) and constituted 21.41% of the total. The Hispanic or Latino of All Races ethnicity group had the third highest (388.37K), constituting 5.02% of the total citizen voting-age population.
