Based on the US Census Bureau's special tabulation from the ACS 5-year estimates, in 2024, the citizen population for New Jersey was 8,364,998 and represented 89.53% of the total New Jersey population.

Among all New Jersey counties, Bergen had the highest citizen population (859.41K), followed by Middlesex (738.43K), and Essex (732.91K).

In terms of percentages, Salem had the highest percentage of its population being citizens (98.78%), followed by Cape May (97.77%), and Gloucester (97.61%).
