Based on the US Census Bureau's special tabulation from the ACS 5-year estimates, in 2020, the citizen population for New Jersey was 8,026,310 and represented 90.33% of the total New Jersey population.

Among all New Jersey counties, Bergen had the highest citizen population (829.60K), followed by Middlesex (711.83K), and Essex (697.86K).
