According to the US Census Bureau estimates, in 2011, the number of births for Montana was 11,985. Yellowstone County had the highest number of births (1,983), followed by Missoula County (1,201), and Cascade County (1,193) On the other hand, Petroleum County had the lowest number of births (3), followed by Powder River County (6), and Golden Valley County (6).
