According to the US Census Bureau estimates, in 2012, the number of births for South Dakota was 11,896. Minnehaha County had the highest number of births (2,790), followed by Pennington County (1,543), and Lincoln County (835) On the other hand, Campbell County had the lowest number of births (3), followed by Jones County (9), and Harding County (10).
