Based on the US Census Vintage data estimates, in 2015, the Black or African American Alone population in Connecticut was 416,208 and represented 11.60% of the total Connecticut population (3,588,561).

Among Connecticut counties, Hartford County had the highest number of people who identified as Black or African American Alone (136,798), followed by New Haven County (123,533), and Fairfield County (116,500). Windham County had the lowest (3,412).
