According to the data from the US 2020 decennial Census, as at April 2020, there were 1,288,159 people who identified as Non-Hispanic - Black or African American Alone in Alabama, which was 25.64% of the total Alabama population.

Jefferson County had the highest number of people who identified as Non-Hispanic - Black or African American Alone (280,112), followed by Mobile County (145,435), and Montgomery County (129,801). On the other hand, the three counties with the least number of people who identified as Non-Hispanic - Black or African American Alone were: Winston County (131), Cleburne County (457), and Blount County (826).

When it comes to the percentage of each county's population that identify as Non-Hispanic - Black or African American Alone, Greene County had the highest percentage (80.56%), followed by Macon County (78.82%), and Sumter County (72.54%).
