According to the data from the US 2020 decennial Census, as at April 2020, there were 20,731 people who identified as Non-Hispanic - Black or African American Alone in Alaska, which was 2.83% of the total Alaska population.

Anchorage Municipality had the highest number of people who identified as Non-Hispanic - Black or African American Alone (13,777), followed by Fairbanks North Star Borough (3,804), and Matanuska-Susitna Borough (1,059). On the other hand, the three counties with the least number of people who identified as Non-Hispanic - Black or African American Alone were: Wrangell City and Borough (0), Lake and Peninsula Borough (1), and Yakutat City and Borough (2).

When it comes to the percentage of each county's population that identify as Non-Hispanic - Black or African American Alone, Aleutians East Borough had the highest percentage (8.68%), followed by Aleutians West Census Area (4.91%), and Anchorage Municipality (4.73%).
