According to the data from the US 2020 decennial Census, as at April 2020, there were 360,937 people who identified as Non-Hispanic - Black or African American Alone in Connecticut, which was 10.01% of the total Connecticut population.

Hartford County had the highest number of people who identified as Non-Hispanic - Black or African American Alone (118,154), followed by New Haven County (110,273), and Fairfield County (99,992). On the other hand, the three counties with the least number of people who identified as Non-Hispanic - Black or African American Alone were: Windham County (2,064), Litchfield County (2,957), and Tolland County (5,074).
