According to the data from the US 2020 decennial Census, as at April 2020, there were 1,452,420 people who identified as Non-Hispanic - Black or African American Alone in Louisiana, which was 31.18% of the total Louisiana population.

Orleans Parish had the highest number of people who identified as Non-Hispanic - Black or African American Alone (205,876), followed by East Baton Rouge Parish (205,552), and Jefferson Parish (115,900). On the other hand, the three counties with the least number of people who identified as Non-Hispanic - Black or African American Alone were: Cameron Parish (71), LaSalle Parish (1,283), and West Carroll Parish (1,338).

When it comes to the percentage of each county's population that identify as Non-Hispanic - Black or African American Alone, East Carroll Parish had the highest percentage (69.23%), followed by Madison Parish (61.63%), and St. John the Baptist Parish (56.68%).
