According to the data from the US 2020 decennial Census, as at April 2020, there were 392,850 people who identified as Non-Hispanic - Black or African American Alone in Minnesota, which was 6.88% of the total Minnesota population.

Hennepin County had the highest number of people who identified as Non-Hispanic - Black or African American Alone (169,603), followed by Ramsey County (70,101), and Dakota County (32,191). On the other hand, the three counties with the least number of people who identified as Non-Hispanic - Black or African American Alone were: Kittson County (1), Mahnomen County (8), and Lincoln County (10).
