According to the data from the US 2020 decennial Census, as at April 2020, there were 64,749 people who identified as Non-Hispanic - Black or African American Alone in West Virginia, which was 3.61% of the total West Virginia population.

Kanawha County had the highest number of people who identified as Non-Hispanic - Black or African American Alone (13,416), followed by Berkeley County (9,118), and Raleigh County (5,790). On the other hand, the three counties with the least number of people who identified as Non-Hispanic - Black or African American Alone were: Tyler County (4), Wirt County (6), and Webster County (10).

When it comes to the percentage of each county's population that identify as Non-Hispanic - Black or African American Alone, Gilmer County had the highest percentage (12.46%), followed by McDowell County (11.19%), and Raleigh County (7.76%).
