According to the data from the US 2020 decennial Census, as at April 2020, the voting-age population of people who identified as Non-Hispanic - Black or African American Alone in North Carolina was 1,620,569; and represented 19.87% of the total North Carolina voting-age population.

Mecklenburg County had the highest number of people who identified as Non-Hispanic - Black or African American Alone (247,262), followed by Wake County (155,438), and Guilford County (137,275). On the other hand, the three counties with low Non-Hispanic - Black or African American Alone voting-age population were: Graham County (32), Mitchell County (40), and Clay County (50).

When it comes to the percentage of each county's voting-age population that identified as Non-Hispanic - Black or African American Alone, Bertie County had the highest percentage (58.84%), followed by Hertford County (54.86%), and Edgecombe County (54.79%).
