According to the data from the US 2020 Census, as at April 2020, among all North Carolina counties, Mecklenburg County had the highest population density per square mile (2.13K people per sqr mile), followed by Wake County (1.35K people per sqr mile), and New Hanover County (1.17K people per sqr mile).
On the other hand, Hyde County had the lowest population density (7.49 people per sqr mile), followed by Tyrrell County (8.30 people per sqr mile), and Jones County (19.46 people per sqr mile).
