Alaska American Indian and Alaska Native Alone Voting-age Population By County in Census 2020

According to the data from the US 2020 decennial Census, as at April 2020, among all the Alaska voting-age population (18 years and over), there were 76,714 people who identified their race as American Indian and Alaska Native Alone, which is 13.85% of the total voting-age population of Alaska.

Anchorage Municipality had the highest number of American Indian and Alaska Native Alone voting-age population (17,748), followed by Bethel Census Area (9,814), and Fairbanks North Star Borough (5,356).

On the other hand, the three counties with low number of American Indian and Alaska Native Alone voting-age population were: Skagway Municipality (30), Denali Borough (55), and Petersburg Borough (164).

In terms of the percentage of each county's voting-age population, Kusilvak Census Area had the highest percentage, with 93.79% of its voting-age population identifying their race as American Indian and Alaska Native Alone, followed by Bethel Census Area (80.91%), and Northwest Arctic Borough (79.58%).
