According to the data from the US 2020 decennial Census, as at April 2020, among all the Maine voting-age population (18 years and over), there were 6,020 people who identified their race as American Indian and Alaska Native Alone, which is 0.54% of the total voting-age population of Maine.
Penobscot County had the highest number of American Indian and Alaska Native Alone voting-age population (1,146), followed by Washington County (980), and Aroostook County (798).
On the other hand, the three counties with low number of American Indian and Alaska Native Alone voting-age population were: Franklin County (73), Piscataquis County (82), and Sagadahoc County (84).
In terms of the percentage of each county's voting-age population, Washington County had the highest percentage, with 3.86% of its voting-age population identifying their race as American Indian and Alaska Native Alone, followed by Aroostook County (1.47%), and Penobscot County (0.92%).
