Alaska Black or African American Alone Voting-age Population By County in Census 2020

According to the data from the US 2020 decennial Census, as at April 2020, among all the Alaska voting-age population (18 years and over), there were 17,297 people who identified their race as Black or African American Alone, which is 3.12% of the total voting-age population of Alaska.

Anchorage Municipality had the highest number of Black or African American Alone voting-age population (11,298), followed by Fairbanks North Star Borough (3,157), and Matanuska-Susitna Borough (889).

On the other hand, the three counties with low number of Black or African American Alone voting-age population were: Wrangell City and Borough (0), Haines Borough (1), and Yakutat City and Borough (2).

In terms of the percentage of each county's voting-age population, Aleutians East Borough had the highest percentage, with 9.52% of its voting-age population identifying their race as Black or African American Alone, followed by Aleutians West Census Area (5.66%), and Anchorage Municipality (5.07%).
