Connecticut Black or African American Alone Voting-age Population By County in Census 2020

According to the data from the US 2020 decennial Census, as at April 2020, among all the Connecticut voting-age population (18 years and over), there were 294,102 people who identified their race as Black or African American Alone, which is 10.25% of the total voting-age population of Connecticut.

Hartford County had the highest number of Black or African American Alone voting-age population (96,249), followed by New Haven County (89,066), and Fairfield County (80,992).

On the other hand, the three counties with low number of Black or African American Alone voting-age population were: Windham County (1,861), Litchfield County (2,581), and Tolland County (4,467).

In terms of the percentage of each county's voting-age population, Hartford County had the highest percentage, with 13.49% of its voting-age population identifying their race as Black or African American Alone, followed by New Haven County (12.89%), and Fairfield County (10.90%).
