Hawaii Black or African American Alone Voting-age Population By County in Census 2020

According to the data from the US 2020 decennial Census, as at April 2020, among all the Hawaii voting-age population (18 years and over), there were 19,085 people who identified their race as Black or African American Alone, which is 1.65% of the total voting-age population of Hawaii.

Honolulu County had the highest number of Black or African American Alone voting-age population (16,769), followed by Hawaii County (1,065), and Maui County (927).

On the other hand, the three counties with low number of Black or African American Alone voting-age population were: Kalawao County (2), Kauai County (322), and Maui County (927).

In terms of the percentage of each county's voting-age population, Kalawao County had the highest percentage, with 2.78% of its voting-age population identifying their race as Black or African American Alone, followed by Honolulu County (2.07%), and Maui County (0.72%).
