Illinois Black or African American Alone Voting-age Population By County in Census 2020

According to the data from the US 2020 decennial Census, as at April 2020, among all the Illinois voting-age population (18 years and over), there were 1,373,943 people who identified their race as Black or African American Alone, which is 13.74% of the total voting-age population of Illinois.

Cook County had the highest number of Black or African American Alone voting-age population (936,911), followed by Will County (60,147), and St. Clair County (55,868).

On the other hand, the three counties with low number of Black or African American Alone voting-age population were: Scott County (1), Calhoun County (7), and Stark County (9).

In terms of the percentage of each county's voting-age population, Alexander County had the highest percentage, with 29.83% of its voting-age population identifying their race as Black or African American Alone, followed by St. Clair County (28.35%), and Pulaski County (28.33%).
