Iowa Black or African American Alone Voting-age Population By County in Census 2020

According to the data from the US 2020 decennial Census, as at April 2020, among all the Iowa voting-age population (18 years and over), there were 88,101 people who identified their race as Black or African American Alone, which is 3.60% of the total voting-age population of Iowa.

Polk County had the highest number of Black or African American Alone voting-age population (23,241), followed by Linn County (10,773), and Black Hawk County (9,510).

On the other hand, the three counties with low number of Black or African American Alone voting-age population were: Taylor County (0), Ringgold County (1), and Wayne County (3).

In terms of the percentage of each county's voting-age population, Black Hawk County had the highest percentage, with 9.28% of its voting-age population identifying their race as Black or African American Alone, followed by Scott County (7.09%), and Johnson County (6.83%).
