Massachusetts Black or African American Alone Voting-age Population By County in Census 2020

According to the data from the US 2020 decennial Census, as at April 2020, among all the Massachusetts voting-age population (18 years and over), there were 374,739 people who identified their race as Black or African American Alone, which is 6.62% of the total voting-age population of Massachusetts.

Suffolk County had the highest number of Black or African American Alone voting-age population (113,432), followed by Middlesex County (65,086), and Norfolk County (39,751).

On the other hand, the three counties with low number of Black or African American Alone voting-age population were: Dukes County (720), Franklin County (818), and Nantucket County (821).

In terms of the percentage of each county's voting-age population, Suffolk County had the highest percentage, with 16.92% of its voting-age population identifying their race as Black or African American Alone, followed by Hampden County (8.36%), and Plymouth County (7.93%).
