Michigan Black or African American Alone Voting-age Population By County in Census 2020

According to the data from the US 2020 decennial Census, as at April 2020, among all the Michigan voting-age population (18 years and over), there were 1,031,144 people who identified their race as Black or African American Alone, which is 13.03% of the total voting-age population of Michigan.

Wayne County had the highest number of Black or African American Alone voting-age population (505,177), followed by Oakland County (134,928), and Macomb County (79,739).

On the other hand, the three counties with low number of Black or African American Alone voting-age population were: Keweenaw County (3), Ontonagon County (5), and Oscoda County (7).

In terms of the percentage of each county's voting-age population, Wayne County had the highest percentage, with 36.70% of its voting-age population identifying their race as Black or African American Alone, followed by Genesee County (18.48%), and Saginaw County (16.77%).
