New York Black or African American Alone Voting-age Population By County in Census 2020

According to the data from the US 2020 decennial Census, as at April 2020, among all the New York voting-age population (18 years and over), there were 2,326,865 people who identified their race as Black or African American Alone, which is 14.46% of the total voting-age population of New York.

Kings County had the highest number of Black or African American Alone voting-age population (613,774), followed by Bronx County (368,874), and Queens County (324,227).

On the other hand, the three counties with low number of Black or African American Alone voting-age population were: Hamilton County (30), Schuyler County (68), and Lewis County (76).

In terms of the percentage of each county's voting-age population, Bronx County had the highest percentage, with 32.85% of its voting-age population identifying their race as Black or African American Alone, followed by Kings County (28.68%), and Queens County (16.63%).
