South Carolina Black or African American Alone Voting-age Population By County in Census 2020

According to the data from the US 2020 decennial Census, as at April 2020, among all the South Carolina voting-age population (18 years and over), there were 971,344 people who identified their race as Black or African American Alone, which is 24.20% of the total voting-age population of South Carolina.

Richland County had the highest number of Black or African American Alone voting-age population (144,384), followed by Charleston County (71,468), and Greenville County (66,030).

On the other hand, the three counties with low number of Black or African American Alone voting-age population were: Saluda County (3,225), McCormick County (3,310), and Oconee County (4,074).

In terms of the percentage of each county's voting-age population, Allendale County had the highest percentage, with 68.46% of its voting-age population identifying their race as Black or African American Alone, followed by Williamsburg County (62.31%), and Lee County (60.08%).
