Virginia Black or African American Alone Voting-age Population By County in Census 2020

According to the data from the US 2020 decennial Census, as at April 2020, among all the Virginia voting-age population (18 years and over), there were 1,242,045 people who identified their race as Black or African American Alone, which is 18.41% of the total voting-age population of Virginia.

Fairfax County had the highest number of Black or African American Alone voting-age population (83,857), followed by Henrico County (74,450), and Norfolk city (74,424).

On the other hand, the three counties with low number of Black or African American Alone voting-age population were: Highland County (2), Craig County (5), and Dickenson County (35).

In terms of the percentage of each county's voting-age population, Petersburg city had the highest percentage, with 73.27% of its voting-age population identifying their race as Black or African American Alone, followed by Emporia city (61.53%), and Greensville County (57.79%).
