According to the US Census Bureau estimates, in 2023, the number of deaths for California was 303,733. Los Angeles had the highest number of deaths (72,988), followed by San Diego (24,403), and Orange (22,850). On the other hand, Alpine had the lowest number of deaths (18), followed by Sierra (39), and Mono (63).
