According to the US Census Bureau estimates, in 2022, the net migration rate per 1,000 population for Alabama was 6.56. Limestone County had the highest net migration rate per 1,000 population (30.47) followed by Baldwin County (30.04), and Cherokee County (19.55). On the other hand, Perry County had the lowest net migration rate per 1,000 population (-26.79), followed by Wilcox County (-21.97), and Dallas County (-16.44).

Net migration rate for a county refers to the difference between the number of migrants, both domestic and international, moving to the county and those leaving the county per 1,000 of the county's mid-year population.
